Coir fibre

Coir is a natural fibre extracted from the husk of coconuts and is used in products such as mats, brushes, mattresses, ropes, and sacking. Brown coir, obtained from fully ripened coconuts, is strong, durable, and abrasion-resistant, while white coir from unripe coconuts is finer and smoother, suitable for yarn and ropes. The fibres are hollow, cellulose-rich, and naturally water-resistant, making them ideal for a variety of applications, including horticulture.
